The birth year of 1843 matches the census records but Charlottes's sister , Isabel, is still writing to her in 1865 so the year that she died may be 1865.
From letters written by Isabel "Belle", Charlotte's sister, Charlotte was living in Minnesota after her marriage. She is with her parents in the 1860 census so would have married and moved to Minnesota in the years between 1861 & 1865.
No marriage record has been found for her but her stone does say Charlotte Niles.
From letters at Cornell University, Isabel is writing to her mother on Dec. 25, 1864 about Charlotte's illness and writes a letter Feb. 25, 1865 to Charlotte that she would like to visit her. The letters at Cornell only have brief outlines as to content.
