Olga L. Primrose, 95, of Albion, died Sunday, December 25, 2005, at the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center in Albion.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 5, 2006, at the United Methodist Church in Albion. Rev. Kathy Rice officiated with interment in the Dublin Cemetery in Primrose.
Casket bearers were Denny Johnson, Don Johnson, Ken McIntyre, Doug Vanderloop, Tom Cornwell and Bill Cornwell.
Brenda Lambert was organist.
Olga Linnea Primrose, the daughter of Olof and Emma Bengtson Johnson, was born March 7, 1910, at Sumner. She was baptized at the Christian Church of Elmcreek. Olga received her elementary education at country schools in Buffalo County and graduated from Genoa High School in 1928.
On February 7, 1934, she married Frank E. Primrose at the manor of W. J. Primrose at St. Paul. They lived for a few years in Iowa and Kearney, NE. In 1944, they moved to the family farm near Primrose. In 1955, due to Frank's ailing health, they moved into Primrose and ran a grocery store. After Frank's death in 1959, Olga continued to run the store until 1974, when she moved to Albion.
Olga was a member of the Primrose Presbyterian Church until transferring her membership to the United Methodist Church in Albion; a member of the United Presbyterian Women and United Methodist Women, Starlite, Birthday and Happy Hour Clubs.
Olga entered the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Home in December of 1999.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Zimmerman of Muskogee, OK; one son, Gary Primrose of Hastings; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; one son, Gailen; seven sisters, Agnes, Esther, Edith, Helen, Margaret, Lillian and Vivian; two brothers, Elmer and Frances; one grandson, Mike; and one great-grandson, Javan.
