HOLLY SPRINGS - Shelby Reeves Power Jr., 78, retired nursing home administrator, died of acute leukemia Monday at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. He had served in the U.S. Naval Academy. Holly Springs Funeral Home has charge. Mr. Power , the husband of Mary Elizabeth Leslie 'Tip' Power for 53 years, also leaves three daughters, Nancy Smith of Godley, Texas, and Sara Power and Martha Haley, both of Holly Springs; two sons, Dr. Shelby R. Power III of State College, Pa., and Michael Lesley Power of Holly Springs; a sister, Dorothy B. Johnson of Hattiesburg; a brother, James M. Power of Memphis, and nine grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to First United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
