Austin "Abe" B. Ellis, 89, of Sherwood died June 12, 2010.
He was born March 31, 1921 in Deann, Arkansas. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, belonged to the Masonic Lodge of North Little Rock and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Little Rock.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burton John and Molly Burke Ellis; a brother, Clovis Ellis; and two sisters, Dorothy Mae Akins and Pearl Gill.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Edith Claypool Ellis of Sherwood; two sons, Steven John Ellis and wife Sharon of Dallas, Texas and Gregory Don Ellis and Brett of Johnson City, Tennessee; brothers, P.J. Ellis of Little Rock and Doyle Ellis of North Little Rock.
A funeral was held June 16 at Immanuel Baptist Church of Little Rock. Burial followed in Rest Hills Memorial Park.
