Mrs. Carrie S. Plumb has filed papers in the district court asking the court to change the name of Preston Morrill Plumb to Preston B. Plumb, the same as that of his late father. The change will be made at the October term of court.

Pasadena Man Kills Himself at 74
SOUTH PASADENA, April 10--(INS)--Preston B. Plumb, 74, shot himself to death with a rifle in the basement of his South Pasadena home today after telling his wife to go to Easter church services alone.

PRESTON B. PLUMB, RESIDENT HERE 46 YEARS, DIED APRIL 10
Preston B. Plumb, retired attorney, died April 10, at his home 2011 Ashbourne Drive. Born in Emporia, Kansas, he had lived in South Pasadena 46 years.
Surviving Mr. Plumb are his wife, Mrs. Kate Wheldon Plumb, of this city; a daughter, Mrs. Charles H. Herman, Jr., of San Marino; two sons, Preston B. Plumb, Jr., of Solvang, Calif. and Edward Lyman Plumb of Hanford, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Schuyler C. Brewster of South Pasadena, and Mrs. George D. Griffith of Anaheim.
Private funeral services were held at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning at St. James Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Gilbert P. Prince officiating. Interment was at San Gabriel Cemetery. in lieu of flowers, friends were asked to make contributions to the Episcopal Home for the Aged in Alhambra.

Preston Plumb Jr. Dead
Preston Plumb Jr., son of the late Senator and Mrs. Preston B. Plumb, a former Emporian, died Sunday in South Pasadena, Calif., where he had practiced lay many years. His father was one of the founders of Emporia.
Private funeral services will be held Tuesday, and the family requests no flowers.
Mr. Plumb, who was approximately 84, grew up in Emporia and married Kate Wheldon here in 1905. They left Emporia for California about 1907, and Mr. Plumb practiced law first in Los Angeles. His wife, two sons and a daughter, and several grandchildren, survive. He also is survived by two sisters, Caroline Plumb Griffith, of Anaheim, Calif,, and Mrs. Schuyler C. Brewster, of South Pasadena, Calif. Preceding him in death were a brother, A.H. Plumb, and a sister, Mary A. Plumb, both of Emporia.
