Death record says "G" for middle initial, but marker is clearly "J". Marker dates exactly match death record. Lakewood records saying d. 1872 are WRONG. This is in Section PG11, which has long rows of individual graves, 95% unmarked.

This marker may be hard to find because it is sunken below ground level. Looking west, in the distance there is a little flag at grave of Henry Countryman, which is easy to locate. John Anderson is 15 graves to northeast in same row.

John Anderson's marker and many others in this section (but only 5% of graves) used to be upright but were laid flat by the cemetery to prevent damage. Looking southeast, a few markers in the distance are in a different section.

Looking east, PG 11 is across from the Lakewood chapel. You can see the marker is below ground level. John was a carpenter. His parents were listed as "Andrew" & "Christine" (no last names) on his death record. He was 30 years old.

I dampened the marker to make the inscription clearer. At the bottom of photo is the last line of inscription with color adjusted. The marker says: JOHN H. ANDERSON / BORN / Nov. 27, 1858 / DIED / Mar. 15, 1889 / I never shall forget you.

Lakewood Cemetery Disposition records for John G Anderson indicates the date is June 6, 1872. This section has many unmarked graves but when reviewing the graves on both sides, I am confident this is grave #362.
