David Spotts Gantt was the eighth child born to Jesse P.C. and Rosalia (Rose) nee Garcia Gantt. He was born in El Paso, Texas on March 14th, 1908. He was the brother to Harry, Amy, Albert (Ollie), Jim, Jesse Patrick (Pat), Ella, Raymond, May, and Muriel. He worked for his older brother Jim at Gantt's Jewelery Manufacturing in El Paso, where he tradically drank some jewelery cleaner from which he died the day after Christmas in 1934 while working. An autopsy and inquest by the coronor stated that he accidently ingested the lethal substance. He died a few minutes later, down in the lobby of the Abu Building in which he worked. David never married but was engaged at the time to an unknown woman, he never had any children either.
