MSgt Gilbert Nils Eide of Jacksonville, Arkansas, age 75, on short final, was cleared to land runway-one by our Lord Savior on 20 November 2013. He is survived by his loving wife; two sons and three daughter-in-law; and six grandchildren. MSgt Eide was born on 27 May 1938 in Bronx borough, New York City, New York to parents Nils and Gerda Eide; married the Love of His Live in Cebu City, Philippine Islands on 14 November 1966. MSgt Eide retired from the US Air Force after 23 years of distinguished and honorable service and is a Veteran of the Vietnam conflict. "Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth, and danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; sunwards I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds—and done a thousand things…" Gilbert is forever remembered as a loving and devoted husband, dedicated and inspirational father and selfless friend to many known and untold. He is missed.

Graveside services were Wednesday, November 27 at Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery.
