Bernhardt "Baren" Ailts and Antje "Angie" Conrad(i) had seven kids. All but two died very young and John (Hermann Johann Bernhard Ailts -- 11 Dec 1881 - 22 or 23 Dec 1915) was the elder of the two boys who lived to become adults. (Other was Henrich "Heinie"/Henry G. Ailts)

John departed Pekin, Illinois, for Minneapolis and there married Elizabeth Moen. He became quite ill due to TB (his Dad died of TB) and his younger, full brother Heinie brought him back to Pekin on 1 December where he died 22 or 23 Dec 1915, being 34 years and 11 days of age as per the Tazewell County, Illinois Cemeteries, Pekin Township -- Volume 8. (Different sources give different birth days) He is buried in Pekin, Illinois - Lakeside Cemetery. He has no stone.

Above information was sent to me by Dirksen family researcher: Thomas Dirksen. (I'm not related to Ailts, Dirksen or Moen's but did some research for him in Eau Claire to link John B. to Elizabeth Moen) Herman was probably his third German name...German practise was to give three names. He did go by John B. Ailts in most of the records. Thomas probably has the source for the Herman. He has indicated he has photos and other items.
