Wife of the late John P. Jones∼Mrs. Georgina Frances Sullivan Jones, widow of Senator John P. Jones of Nevada, died yesterday at her home, 136 West Eleventh Street, at the age of 83.
Born in San Francisco, she was educated in Europe. She was married to Senator Jones in 1873. During the thirty years he served in the Senate, she was one of the social leaders in Washington.
The French Government decorated her for her work in connection with the erection of the statue of George Washington by Daniel Chester French at Paris in 1900 and again for assisting with the Orpelinant des Armees in the World War.
Surviving are her stepson, Roy Jones of Los Angeles and three daughters, Mrs. Alice MacMonnies, wife of Frederick MacMonnies, the sculptor, and Mrs. Marion Farquhar and Mrs. Georgina Walton (Sister Daya).
The funeral service will be held at Grace Church Chantry, Broadway and Tenth Street, tomorrow at 11 A.M. Honorary pall-bearers will be Thomas W. Lamont, Frederick MacMonnies, Wesley C. Mitchell, Lee Pattison, Herbert Langmuir, and Frederic Patton Hart.
