ENGLISH, WILLIAM H.
New York, February 7 - William H. English died in his rooms at the Hotel English today at 1:35 p.m. Mr. English had been ill with la grippe for two weeks. Several days ago rheumatism set in and the heart action became bad. While his naturally strong constitution gave Mr. English's friends strong hopes for his recovery, his condition has through-out been considered grave. For the past three days the patient has had lapses of unconsciousness and since last night he has been able only at long intervals to recognize those about his bedside. Those present when death came were Mrs. Walling, Mr. English's daughter, and her husband, Dr. Franklin Hayes, the family physician. Mr. English's private secretary and Will English his son. The burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, where Mr. English some time ago erected a beautiful family monument. (The Houston Post, Houston, Tex, Feb 8, 1896
