Mark "Zippy" AdamczakJr., 58, of Fox Farm Road in Manistee, died Friday, January 13, 2006, at St. John Oakland Hospital in Madison Heights, Michigan.

Mark was born June 30, 1947 in Manistee, the son of Mark "Swede" and Edna (Mantych) Adamczak. Mark attended Manistee High School. On September 30, 1980, Mark married Nancy J. Jankowski in Manistee.

Mark was a very dedicated union representative, joing the laborers union in 1971. While with the union, Mark held many position of the various union locals. Mark was a member and past president of Gentleman's Motorcycle Club of Manistee. He was also a member of the Civic Club and VFW Walsh Post #4499 of Manistee Friends Member. after the death of their parents, Mark, along with his family, were owners and operators of the Filer City Tavern for many years. His hobbies included collecing motorcycles and cars. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He loved sports of all kinds and was a sports enthusiast.

Mark is survived by his wife, Nancy; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Alan Zatarga of Manistee; and one son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Leslie Sorenson of Marietta, GA; Mark's biggest enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren, Valerie and Kenton Zatarga and Hallee Sorenson. He is also survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Susan and David Viol of Manistee; three brothers, Michael and Martha Adamczak of Vacaville, Calif, Tony Adamczak of Chicago, Ill, and Danny Adamczak of Sarasota, Fla; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be celbrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Manistee with Msgr. Gerard F. Guzikowski, celebrant. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Manistee.
