Heart Attack Fatal To Mrs. Smith W. Brookhart; Raised On Joe Barker Farm.

Mrs. Smith W. Brookhart, 74, died Thursday at Prescott, Ariz., Thursday from a heart attack. She had been ill only a short time. She is the wife of the former Iowa Senator Brookhart and was raised on the Joe Barker and Don Miller farm, at Keosauqua. She is the former Jennie Heanne and was married to Mr. Brookhart in 1897. He served in the Senate from 1922 to 1933.
The Brookharts made their home in Washington, Iowa, but because of his health had gone to Arizona last September.
Services and interment will be held in Washington, Iowa. She is survived by her husband who has been ill for some time and six children, Major Smith W. Brookhart, Jr., Charles E. Brookhart on the consulate staff at Calcutta, India, John R. Brookhart, Duluth, Minn., Dr. Florence E. Yount of Prescott, Ariz., Mrs. Edith E. Millard of San Francisco and Capt. Joseph W. Brookhart, now at the Paso Army Air Base, Texas.
