Daughter of Alfred and Elizabeth Anderson Carlson, she was widowed, a housewife, lived at RFD 1 Cathlamet, died in Cowlitz General Hospital of a cerebral vascular accident, stomach cancer with extensive metastases, arteriosclerostic heart disease, per death certificate 20434, whose informant was Mrs. William Canham, daughter. Buried Nov 26 1955.

Mrs. Ellen Sandstrom, 74, of Puget Island, died Nov. 21 at a Longview hospital. She was born Sept. 13, 1881, in Sweden.

She came to the United States in 1903 and lived on Puget Island since, except for a few years in Astoria. She attended Our Savior Lutheran Church, and was a charter member of the Puget Island Community Club.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. William Canham of Portland, and Mrs. Sangar Prestegard of Taylorsville, OR; three sons, David J, Sandstrom of Puget Island, George Sandstrom of Portland, and Phillip Gisselberg of Toledo; a sister, Mrs. Martin Jacobsen of Seattle; two sisters in Sweden; and two step-sons, Walter and Paul Gisselberg of Puget Island.

Services will be at 2 pm Saturday at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Rev. J. O. Mosbo officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
