Alexander Dawson Bedwell was a farmer who served in the CSA during the Civil War, where he was wounded in Atlanta in the Sherman campaign. He enlisted in the 22nd Mississippi Infantry, Co. B on July 27, 1861 at Iuka, Mississippi. A.D. Bedwell married Mary Jane Cockerham and raised eleven children. According to his son he died hating navy blue.
