DEATH OF MRS. ELLEN WEYER

Former Madisonian Passed Away Wednesday at Kansas City, Mo.

Friends and relatives of Mr. William S. Weyer of Kansas City, Missouri, were advised today of the death of his mother, Mrs. Ellen Cory Hendricks Weyer, who died at the family home in Kansas City Wednesday morning at the age of eighty-three.

Mrs. Weyer was a daughter of the late Governor William and Anne P. Hendricks, and widow of the late Edward P. Weyer. The family homestead in this city was located on west First street. At one time the family lived in what is now the Earl Miller property, at the corner of Main and Vine streets. Mr. Edward P. Weyer later built the house now known at the Hatch property, located at the corner of First and Broadway streets. This was their last home in this city.

In the year of 1881, the family removed to Kansas City, to make their home, and have lived there since, with the exception of a short time, when the family removed to Springfield, Mo.

Mrs. Weyer is survived by one son, Mr. William S. Weyer and two daughters, Misses Aimee H. Weyer and Leanora A. Weyer, all of whom live at Kansas City. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church of this city, now the Madison Presbyterian church, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was always an influence for good in the community and her life was a series of kindly and gracious deeds. She held a position of respect and esteem and leaves a great many friends and admirers besides her bereaved family.

The remains will arrive at North Madison and burial will be directly from the train, Saturday morning in Fairmount cemetery. Services will be conducted by Dr. Thomas C. Moffett. Burial private at Fairmount.
