Philip B. McLaurin was a private in Company N of the 20th South Carolina Infantry Regiment (also known as Capt. J.A. Peterkin's Cavalry Company). According to National Archives records, he enlisted Aug. 1, 1863, in Marlboro and died of chronic dysentery while at home in December 1863.
