The casketbearers will be his grandchildren, Jason, Jory, Brian, Brett and Scott Denman, Rachelle Retzer, Craig Miller and Carisa Miller.

Norman Denman was born on May 21, 1923 at Carpenter, SD, the son of Maynard and Ella (Nelson) Denman.

On October 28, 1945 he was united in marriage to Margaret "Marg" Wehrkamp at DeSmet, in her parent's home. The couple lived at Carpenter for a short time before moving to Willow Lake in 1952. They lived and farmed near Willow Lake before moving into town in the late 1970's. Besides farming, Norman worked as a parts man for Melvin Schmidt at the Schmidt Implement Co, the Clark-Willow Lake Community Oil Co-Op and also helped Marlo Froke doing carpentry work.

He was a longtime member of the Congregational United Church of Christ, serving as usher for many years. He thoroughly enjoyed camping and motorcycle riding.

His wife Marg passed away in November of 2001 after suffering a massive stroke a few years before. Norman was her caregiver for many years and during those years at home, Marg had the patience to teach Norm cooking and baking. Many here will remember his homemade pies, turkey dinners and other fond treats. She would say, I have the mind for baking, he has the strength!

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife Marg, siblings, Grover (Helen) Denman and Phyllis Klinkel and a brother-in-law, Bob Klinkel.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his 3 children, Jerry (Carol) Denman of Watertown and their sons, Brian, Brett and Scott Denman; Ron (Janet) Denman of Willow Lake and their children and grandchildren, Jason (Sandy) Denman – Jacey and Jadyn, Rachelle (DJ) Retzer – Noah, Blake, Camden, Jory (Carey) Denman – Ella, Samuel, William and Amelia; and Cindy (Don) Miller of Watertown and their children and grandchildren, Craig (Heather) Miller – Ashlyn, Bria and Molly and Carisa Miller. He also leaves siblings, Roger (Delores) Denman of Madison, June Klinkel of Spearfish, SD and Ruth (Al) Thoman of Golden, CO and a brother-in-law, Jim Klinkel of DeSmet, SD.
