Italian literary critic. He is considered one of the most prominent figures of the Italian cultural journalism in the first half of the twentieth century. Early debuted as a critic: in 1902 began working with a weekly art ("The Medusa"). The following year, he met Giovanni Papini and Giuseppe Prezzolini, which help him to publish Leonardo. In 1904 is employed as a copyist Hospital. The following year, his brother Guido dies. He moved to Rome in 1906 and has collaborated on "Athena" and the New Anthology. He decides to take a second diploma. He studied as a private and follows a classical education at the high school "Cicognini" of Prato. Later, he enrolled at the Institute of Higher Studies of Florence, where he met Scipio Slataper and Carlo Michelstaedter. However, fails to achieve the title. In 1910 he became engaged to Leonetta Pieraccini, the daughter of a doctor Poggibonsi. The return to Rome (1910) is important because, known Ugo Ojetti, Mario Missiroli and Giuseppe Antonio Borgese, he turned decisively towards the journalistic activity. His collaborations are numerous: he writes on The Voice of Prezzolini, Il Resto del Carlino, The Fanfulla, the newspaper of Italy. Olindo Malagodi the prospect of a fixed collaboration with The Tribune. After debuting in 1912 with an essay on the poem by Giovanni Pascoli, he turned his attention especially to the English literature, to which he devoted several translations and important critical writings. It was probably the first Italian critic to indicate that the 'Ulysses' by James Joyce.
