Nels was born December 26, 1917 in Somers, Montana.

He went home to Jesus on March 29, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Laudia Frolin; all of his siblings, Tom, Agnes, Donald, Dave and Mary. Also preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Georgia and their infant son, Tommy.

Nels was raised in a family of farmers. They lived in N.W. Montana and S.W. Canada, farming land in each area. He rode his horse to school and in the winter would arrive 1 hr early to school to build a fire in the wood burning stove and heat up the one room school house. He was paid $1.00 a week for his service.

Nels was a hard worker. He did not believe in taking out loans and never owned a credit card. "They get you into trouble…" he would say and "never buy today what you cannot pay for tomorrow."

Nels served in the U.S. Army for 5 years and after discharge worked at and retired from General Motors, Fairfax. He was baptized and confirmed his faith in Christ as an adult at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. He later transferred his membership to Ascension Lutheran Church. He is survived by a son, Darrel and daughters, Christine and Cindy, and his grandchildren, Bethany and Weston Hutchings.

The family would like to thank his longtime health care friend, Mirza; the burn unit at KU Medical Center, Unit 42 at KU Medical Center and Dr. Westhoff-thank you for being compassionate and treating our dad with dignity.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm, Monday, April 1st at Ascension Lutheran Church, 4900 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas
City, MO 64133. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday at the church.

"For this God is our God forever and ever; he will be our guide even unto death." Psalm 48:14.

We miss you dad.
