Minister, author, humanitarian and historian. Abolitionist who was active in the Underground Railroad. 10 years pastor of the American Presbyterian Church in Montreal; 14 years of the First Congregational Church in Meriden [CT]; two of the First Congregational Church in Chicago. Graduated from Yale in 1824. In 1849, compiler of one of the first histories of Meriden. He was inducted into the Meriden Hall of Fame in 2006.
Son of Enoch Perkins and Anna Pitkin Perkins.
