Artimecia Yell was the daughter of Ann Jordon Moore (2nd wife) and Archibald Yell (m. 1927). They also had two other daughters and a son: Jane, Elizabeth and DeWitt Clinton Yell. Archibald Yell was raised in Tennessee. His parents were Moses and Jane Yell. However, in 1835 he moved his family to Arkansas. His wife Ann, also called Nancy, died on 7 Oct 1835, only 7 months after the family arrived in Arkansas. Archibald Yell went on to become governor of Arkansas in 1840. It is believed he married a third time in Arkansas.
