"It is believed that Honora Madeline O'Neil and Mary Theresa O'Neil were sisters, both the daughters of Martin O'Neil.

The 1850 census shows Mary Theresa O'Neil was already married to a Simon Lynch, had one daughter (Susannah Angeline "Annie" Lynch) and lived in Clearfield, PA. Also listed in the family is "Honory O'Neil" aged 12, which would put her birth at 1838, matching the birth year from the Commemorative Biographical Record of Central Pennsylvania, Vol I (pub 1898) in which she is mentioned. Since the book states that Martin O'Neil immigrated in 1833, that would line up with Mary Theresa O'Neil stating on census that she was born in Ireland (1831). Martin's wife died in 1838, and then Martin himself died in 1846, leaving the girls as orphans. It appears Honora O'Neil lived with her older sister (Mary Theresa) until her own marriage at age 18 in 1856 to James Preston Farwell in Clearfield County, PA. Simon Lynch died in 1854. Mary Theresa O'Neil Lynch then married John McGoey in Clearfield in Jan 1856."
