Gladys L. (Berdahl) Gustafson, 94, of Minnetonka, Minn., died Jan. 12, 2005. Gladys lived a very active life. Before her marriage to Ken, she was an instructor at a beauty school in Fargo, N.D. Her last job was a Dorm Mother at Torrance Hall, UMD. She loved playing Bridge, and in her later years, Solitaire. She treasured her friends and the many activities they all did together. She was a longtime member of both First Lutheran Church and Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Duluth. She possessed a quiet and persistent strength throughout her life, even during the most difficult times. She is preceded in death by her father, Reuben Almquist; mother, Nora Almquist; first husband Kenneth Berdahl; second husband, Clare Gustafson; daughter, Karen Berdahl. Survived by son, Jim Berdahl (Jeanne) of Shorewood, Minn.; grandchildren, Amy Olson (Matthew) of Edina, Minn., and Matthew Berdahl of St. Louis Park, Minn.; great-grandchildren, Abby and Tatum Olson; brother, Clayton Almquist, San Francisco; niece, Janet Aasgaard (Tom) of Plymouth, Minn.
