Mr. Willis was found dead in his small cabin at the rear of the Contact club, 122 Broadway) where he worked He had been under a doctors care for some time.
Mr. Willis was born in 1890 in Indian territory between Oklahoma and Arkansas. He started life as a cowboy. When the silent movies began to expand he was employed to recruit cowboys for pictures. Later he played villain parts in western films, and appeared in the Ruth Roland serials and Mack Sennett comedies. He was a personal friend of William S. Hart and Will Rogers and had many friends among the old time movie stars in Hollywood.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jack Curran of 414 Copley avenue, King City, and Mrs. A1 Gallo of Los Angeles.
Funeral services are pending at the Ree C. Grim mortuary here.
