"Deacon Charles Marston died at his home in this village [Barton Landing] last Tuesday, having lived to an advanced age. Mr. Marston moved here from Glover about seven years ago and during the time he has made his home here has won the respect and esteem of all by his universal kindness and, geniality. He has been a member of the Congregational church for many years and a strong worker in the cause of Christianity and the memory of his splendid Christian character will serve as an example to others. The funeral services were1 held Thursday, Rev. H. T. Barnard officiating; the large number in attendance showed plainly the esteem in which the deceased was held. The remains were taken to Glover for burial beside his wife, who died several years ago." (Orleans County Monitor, 4/2/1900)
